Our Euroscola
day (by Nastia & Lotte)
We went to Euroscola
on February 6th. We had to be at the European parliament around 08.15 am. That
means we had to get up early in the morning at 7 o'clock. At 7.30 am. we had breakfast and at 8 we left the hotel. Everyone
was very excited.
Around 8;15
we arrived at the European parliament. Before we got in the building, we had to
go through a security check. After the security check we took a photo of our
group! In the building we took some pictures and videos.
Right after
that, a staff member from the European parliament guides us to a place where she
told us some information about the day. After that she separated the young
reporters(us) and the rest of the group. So, we went to meet the other the
other young reporters. Everyone was introduced to each other and we talked a
little. At 10 am we went to the hemicycle to watch the presentations of the
high schools. After the presentations there was a Q&A, where students got
to ask questions about the future of Europe and problems in Europe right now.
2 hours
later at 12.30 PM we had lunch. We
talked with the other young reporters about what they thought about the
morning. We also had a lot of fun talking about our differences, because each European
country is very different. It was very fun to speak to so many different people
from Europe. Then we played the Eurogame with the other young reporters.
After
the Eurogame we talked to students from other countries who weren’t young
reporters. Nastia:''
my goal was to meet some students who can speak Russian, I met people who did
so I was very happy, although most of the students who I met said that they can
understand the Russian language but they can't have a conversation in Russian.
At 2 p.m. we
had a press conference and a Q&A with only the young reporters so it
was a small group where we could ask questions. After that we voted on who took
the best Instagram picture with the Euroscola hashtag.
After the
interview with the other young reporters, we took a journalist group photo.
After that we visited the MEPs in their working groups. We visited one group
which talked about the future of Europe. And the other one discussed climate
change and the environment
At 4 p.m.
we had the plenary session. In the plenary session there were presentations of
the proposals by the MEPs, the voting and the final of the Eurogame.
We both
really enjoyed Euroscola, we had a lot of fun and we learned a lot about the
European parliament. Overall it was a great day and a memory that will last!
